Mount the labels and ribbon

Putting the labels on the printer

InstallLabels1A. Place the roll labels on the green lable spindle en slide the centering wings against the roll labels. If possible, place the bigger part of the centering wings in the core of the roll labels. Use the wings to put the roll in the middle of the spindle.
InstallLabels2B. Place the label spindle with the roll labels in the back of the printer into the appropriate spot.
InstallLabels3C. Feed the labels under the white bar en slide the green guides with both hands against the labels. The right guide is the gap-sensor.
InstallLabels4D. Ensure that there is no space between the labels and the guides. Also make sure that the guides are not too tight against the labels, otherwise the carrier will stand up.
InstallLabels6F. Feed the labels untill they rest on the metal tear-off edge of the printer. Close the printer by lifting it out of the locking system and gently pushing it down. Press a last time firmly on the top of the printer until you hear a 'click' to lock it.

InstallLabels7G. Close the transparent top.

Putting the ribbon on the printer

InstallFolie1A. Open the transparent top by pushing it down on the notch.   InstallFolie2B. Slide the ribbon on the first black spindle. Make sure that the ribbon unwinds towards the back, with the raised edge of the spindle on the right side.
InstallFolie3C. Place the spindle with the ribbon on the rear shaft in the printer. Place the left side first, pressing the spring, and then place the right side. Let the spindle click into place. Make sure the raised edge is on the right side of the printer   InstallFolie4D. Slide the cardboard tube (waste roll) over the second black spindle.
InstallFolie5E. Place the spindle with the waste roller on the front shaft in the printer. Here too, place the left side first so that the spring is pressed in and then place the right side and let the spindle with the waste roller click into place. Make sure the raised edge is on the right side of the printer.   InstallFolie6F. Unlock the top of the printer by pulling the green levers on the side toward you and lift the cover. This will automatically lock and remain open.
InstallFolie7G. Pass the ribbon under the print head and stick it on the waste roll.   InstallFolie8H. Turn the ink foil through until the black part of the ribbon is wrapped around the waste roll.

Cleaning of the printer

A.Care Logo Use the A.Care cleaningwipes

A.Care CleaningThe A.Care cleaning is designed in such a way that you obtain a good print quality as long as poissble and extend the life of your printhead and printer. Good print qualtity is only guaranteed if the printhead is in full contact with your media at all times. Any form of pollution such as dust, label or adhesive residues will shorten the life of the printhead. So it is really important that you keep your printhead and printer clean.

Cleaning products

  • Cleaningwipes
    I019039
    cleaningwipe

These wipes have been specially developed to clean equipment and delicate surfaces. With their special structure they leave no residue or dust behind when cleaning your printer.

  • Dust Remover (430g)
    I009256
    dustremover

Frequent printing causes dust in the printer, on the feed roller, and on the sensor. This dust remover is the ideal way to remove residual dust from your printer and thus ensure a smooth operation even longer. This cleaning press gas can also be useful for cleaning difficult-to-access parts such as system cabinets, keyboards, etc.

  • Labelremover (100ml)
    I009260
    labelremover

This liquid serves to remove remnants of labels and glue residues from plastic and metal surfaces. Apply the liquid to the label via the spray, let it work for a few minutes and the label comes off easily. Use one of our wipes to remove any glue residue and dry it right after.

  • Surface cleaner (100ml)
    I009258
    surfacecleaner

After using your printer and other devices, they can store static electricity. This attracts dust and ensures a less efficient operation of the printer. This surface cleaner for plastic materials has an antistatic effect. Apply the surface cleaner to a lint-free cloth and rub the surfaces inside and outside the printer. Let it soak in and dry it right after.

Complete cleaning procedure:

Artikelnr I009256

  1. Turn off the printer, remove all consumables and disconnect the power.
  2. Open the printer and check the feed roller, paper guides and the printhead for visible glue, label residue and / or dust. If available, use the dust remover to blow out your printer on difficult to reach parts.

Artikelnrs I009260; I009262; I009257

  1. If label and / or glue residues can be found, it is best to use the CleaningWipes to remove them. Go over the parts that contain residues and give the liquid the time to work. If it concerns stubborn glue residues, it is recommended to use a label remover (I009260).

Artikelnrs I009260; I009262

  1.  It is recommended to always clean the printhead during every maintenance. Carefully rub the full length of the printhead to ensure that any residue or unevenness is removed.

  Artikelnrs I009260;I009257
  1. You can apply the same operation to thefeed roller. Spread the liquid over the entire width of the roll. As a result, the grip on your label material will always remain optimal.
Artikelnrs I009258; I009257
  1. You can also use the CleaningWipes to clean the housing of the printer. If the environment of the device requires this to happen at short intervals, we have the Surface cleaner (I009258) available. Rub the surfaces inside and outside the printer to apply an anti-static coating to the housing.
When do I have to clean my printer?

Regular maintenance will significantly extend the life of the printhead and printer. How often you need to clean your printer depends on the how many times you use your printer. Cleaning is advised each time you replace a roll of material and / or ink ribbon. Since the complete maintenance of your printer only takes 5 minutes, this is a very good investment to avoid future problems.
